We are seeking a creative and enthusiastic team member to join our Research and Knowledge Exchange (RKE) and Core Operations team. You would be part of our friendly and high-performing Administrative, Professional and Managerial (APM) team, providing a high level of support to CoreOps & RKE activity within the School. 

This role is focused on ensuring we deliver high level professional and administrative support for the School of Law’s core operations and research activity. A key part of that is ensuring that academic staff and professional services colleagues in the School of Law understand relevant processes and have the support they need to deliver their plans and objectives.  

You will be responsible for supporting the delivery of our internal and external communication strategy, showcasing the School’s research and teaching successes. This will involve planning and coordinating the collection of information and the creation of engaging content aimed at different audiences. You will also coordinate and support other core operations, e.g. recruitment for non-core staff roles; purchasing and procurement; facilities; helping the School transition to the University’s new operating system, UniCore. You will also coordinate and support activities related to the School’s research environment and research projects, including activities related to REF, KEF and School research budgets.  

You will work closely with academic and APM colleagues, but with limited direct supervision and therefore be required to use your initiative, take personal responsibility, think analytically and creatively to solve problems and use excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain relationships and work collaboratively with academic staff and professional services colleagues across the Faculty and in Central Departments to deliver a high-quality student experience.  

You will need excellent communication skills, strong organisational and problem-solving skills, and be a creative thinker who can bring your ideas to life in a fast-paced and varied environment. We expect interviews for this role to be held w/c 19 August. Although the earliest possible start date is 1 September, this is flexible depending on notice periods, etc.

The post is offered on a permanent contract. Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours per week) ; however applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 29 hours per week).
