We are looking for a well organised and self-motivated individual to join the Customer Services Team within Computing and Library Services.
As Disability Support Advisor, you will act as a welcoming first point of contact and co-ordinate any additional support that disabled students may need to access Computing and Library Services on an equal footing with their peers. Training staff in disability issues and advising on current legislation relating to Disability also form important roles within this post.
You will have two A-Levels or equivalent qualifications and will possess well-developed interpersonal skills including the ability to deal with users and colleagues in a patient, friendly and approachable manner, as well as the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Previous experience of supporting people with disabilities is also essential.
We offer an excellent employment package including hybrid working, blending a mix of remote and on-campus working (dependent on work duties).
The University is deeply committed to equality and diversity for all its students and staff. We seek to be diverse and inclusive, supporting individuals and groups to fulfil their potential and nurture a sense of belonging. We strive to be an accessible, inclusive employer, removing barriers for all. Find out more about our approach to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, including our commitments and accreditations as a Disability Confident Employer, Stonewall Gold Award holder and Top 100 Employer, Athena SWAN Bronze Award holder and Race Equality Charter Bronze Award holder.
