The Automation and Control Group at DTU's Department of Electrical & Photonics Engineering integrates AI, safety science, and cognitive science into automation. The research should include both theoretical and experimental verification.
A holistic and interdisciplinary approach is applied to the research within the field. It is pursued as the key to developing automation solutions that can reliably perform under uncertainty.
The research field is focused on Cognition and Safety in Socio-Cyber-Physical Systems to maintain and develop a strong cooperation with centers at DTU and international partners as well as external partners in industry.
Responsibilities and qualifications
You will take an active part in developing and carrying out research in our Automation and Control Group. The research of the group is focused on safe and reliable systems in different domains, including topics like robotics and autonomous systems. In addition, you are expected to play a leading role in research, education and innovation within your specific field.
We expect you to contribute to the internal collaboration at the department, collaboration across DTU and external collaboration with industrial partners and to take part in the management of research and innovation activities.
Furthermore, you will take part in the department’s education within safety engineering at BSc, MSc and PhD levels.
Other tasks of the position include but are not limited to fundraising, exchanging knowledge with society, including participation in the public debate, research management, and some academic assessment work. You will publish results in leading international journals and conferences
Candidates must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent) and have an academic and industrial background in safety Technology and Engineering, have documented research experience within several of the following areas:
In addition, experience in teaching courses and mentoring students in safety engineering-related subjects is highly desirable. A basic level of Danish is expected.
Candidates should have been employed for a shorter or longer period of time at a university or relevant company outside DTU.
In this position, you must be responsible for the teaching of courses.
You must be responsible for the teaching of courses. DTU employs two working languages: Danish and English. You are expected to be fluent in at least one of these languages, and in time are expected to master both.
