We have an exciting opportunity for a Reader/Senior Lecturer in Mental Health Science to make a substantial and positive contribution to the strategic direction of the School of Health & Wellbeing/College of Medical, Veterinary & Life Sciences (MVLS) through leading and contributing to research of international standard, high quality teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, securing research funding, and providing academic leadership and management within the School/College. You will also actively engage in relationships with external stakeholders that advance knowledge exchange, public understanding and outreach. We welcome applicants with expertise in any area of mental health research which complements the research interests within the Mental Health & Wellbeing Research Group.

The School of Health & Wellbeing aims to prevent disease, improve health and wellbeing, and reduce inequalities on a local and global scale. Established in 2012, they are one of eight Schools that sit within the College of Medical, Veterinary & Life Sciences. We have strong links with a number of associate Social Scientists in Health academics based in the School of Social and Political Sciences, College of Social Sciences and elsewhere in University of Glasgow.

Through their inter-disciplinary programme of world-leading research and excellent research-led teaching they aim to improve population health and wellbeing and reduce inequalities in health. The School’s research spans three research themes and is delivered across six research groups, their academics have a wide range of skills and expertise and external collaborators include academics, the Scottish and UK Governments, the NHS, local authorities, and the voluntary and private sectors.

We welcome applications from candidates who hold a Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework level 12 (PhD) or equivalent in related discipline with an extensive and established reputation in research and significant teaching experience within the discipline/subject area.
