Lancaster University invites applications for a Partnership and Communications Manager. This is a 0.6FTE post running from 22 September 2024 (or as soon as possible thereafter) for up to ten months (with the project end date being set at 21 July 2025).

You will become a core member of a team working on a Wellcome Research Development Award grant called The Future of Human Reproduction: transformative agendas and methods for the Humanities and Social Sciences.  The team, led by Stephen Wilkinson (Professor of Bioethics) is drawn from several different disciplines (including Bioethics, Design, English Literature, Law, Linguistics, Philosophy, and Sociology). The project aims to develop new methods and research agendas to explore the complex challenges that will emerge as technological advances fundamentally change the possibilities for human reproduction.

Maintaining and building networks and partnerships and communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders, and wider audiences, is vital to the success of the project and to its ability to shape the future direction of research.  The Partnership and Communications Manager will lead in this area, working closely with the project PI (Prof Stephen Wilkinson) and other team members. Amongst other things, you will be responsible for delivery of the overall project communication strategy, line management of the Project Administrator, proactively seeking out new partners and relationships for the project team and managing and maintaining relationships with existing partners. There is considerable scope for the precise nature of the role to be developed during the lifetime of the project in response to your skills and interests and the needs of the team, and you will be given substantial time and support for professional development activities.

We hope to interview shortlisted applicants in late August 2024.

Applicants seeking a secondment from other parts of the university are welcome to apply.
