The Faculty of Science and Technology is seeking to recruit a full-time Student Programmes Officer. The post will be based in Lancaster Environment Centre (LEC) and will lead and manage a team of student-facing professional services staff. The Student Programmes Officer works closely with academic colleagues in the department and engages with colleagues from across the faculty and wider university to support the delivery and administration of student programmes and modules, and the student experience for both undergraduate and postgraduate taught students and postgraduate research students. The team comprises six administrators and is part of a wider Education Services Team, led by the Faculty’s Education Services Manager.  

You will be based in Lancaster Environment Centre but would be expected to work within other academic departments of the faculty as required.  

About you 

You will: 

  • Be able to demonstrate experience of managing a team of people or supervising colleagues to drive results and ensure effective change and continuous improvement.  
  • Be a self-motivated team player, with a commitment to professional development, for yourself and your team. 
  • Have experience of delivering high quality administrative services in a Higher Education or other relevant environment. 
  • Be able to take the lead on quality assurance, quality enhancement, timetabling and assessment processes. 
  • Be able to demonstrate competent IT skills and the ability to work with new systems and software in an evolving digital environment.
