About us
In our single biggest development since we were founded, UCL has expanded to east London. As part of this expansion, UCL Careers is seeking to appoint a Team Leader for our campus at the Queen Elizabeth Park in Stratford. This post will lead the UCL Careers presence at the Stratford campus and ensure a ‘best in class’ careers provision.
About the role
You will lead a small team of careers professionals to include employer engagement/work related learning staff and a careers consultant. You will build and maintain key relationships at the campus to deliver a careers service effectively for up to 4000 students from a diverse range of programmes such as ecology, robotics, heritage, and media. You will lead the vision for careers provision in collaboration with the Deputy Head as well as being involved in the service delivery. Direct delivery will include one to one careers appointments, workshops with students and teaching on our new careers elective placement module. Please note:
About you
You’ll be an established careers professional with project management and/or line management experience. Skills in employability teaching and learning in higher education such as to Associate Fellow/Fellow level of AdvanceHE would be an asset. You’ll have the flexibility to cover departmental workshops for careers consultant colleagues over at Stratford where needed and the confidence to take on a leadership role and adapt as the requirements of the post change. You’ll have the interpersonal skills to build stakeholder relationships as well as manage and motivate a team.
What we offer
As well as the exciting opportunities this role presents we also offer some great benefits some of which are below:
Our commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
As London’s Global University, we know diversity fosters creativity and innovation, and we want our community to represent the diversity of the world’s talent. We are committed to equality of opportunity, to being fair and inclusive, and to being a place where we all belong.
We therefore particularly encourage applications from candidates who are likely to be underrepresented in UCL’s workforce.
These include people from Black, Asian and ethnic minority backgrounds; disabled people; LGBTQI+ people; and for our Grade 9 and 10 roles, women.
