Background
The Learning Support Technology Officer provides the Departments of Journalism and Media Culture & Creatives Industries (MCCI) with learning and technical support for a range of media technology ( audio & video ) and software. The role is expected to work across both areas, working closely with the Academics in the Journalism & MCCI faculties, supporting their work with students, assists students with projects, and works with colleagues within Information Services.
Some evening working may be required ,which will be paid via overtime or time off in lieu, as agreed with your line manager.
Responsibilities
The role assists with the production of television programs, radio programs, creative media and podcasting production and assists with the support of website content management systems and social media management tools. Additionally there is a requirement to perform maintenance and operate studio equipment: including TV studio cameras & control room equipment and radio studio equipment.
Person Specification
You will have experience, or a professional qualification, in the field of audio/ video, creative media production, digital editing and on-line media producton.
You will be experienced in the use of Adobe Creative Cloud suite.
Excellent customer service and communication skills, the ability to use your initiative and working independently as well as part of a team are essential.
You will have a good level of analytical and problem solving skills and be keen to learn new skills in media production technology.
