About the Department
The University Health Service is an NHS GP practice which supports the health needs of the students from The University of Sheffield and their dependents. We deliver a range of NHS services which have been developed in order to provide a tailored service to our patient population.
The team at UHS consists of a number of GPs, Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses and Health Care Assistants, all supported by the reception and administration teams. In addition, the Practice also directly employs or engages a number of roles as part of the Primary Care Network contract. UHS is a single entity PCN which we continue to develop and drive forward year on year.
We achieved “Outstanding” in our CQC rating for our student services, with a “Good” overall, and our patient satisfaction scores in student surveys are consistently amongst the highest in the U.K.
We build teams of people from different heritages and lifestyles from across the world, whose talent and contributions complement each other to greatest effect. We believe diversity in all its forms delivers greater impact through research, teaching and student experience.
