Research Associate in Transport Phenomena at the Solid-Liquid Interfaces

Applications are invited for a research associate position to work on projects of transport phenomena at the solid-liquid interfaces within the Condensed Matter Physics Group in the Department of Physics & Astronomy at the University of Manchester. Successful candidates will join a vibrant team of researchers who are at the forefront of research on van der Waals materials and will work on a range of projects related to transport phenomena at the 2D interface, funded by ERC Starting Grant.

These projects will focus on electrohydrodynamic phenomena at the water-graphene interfaces and their underlying physics. The candidates are required to hold or about to obtain PhD (or equivalent)  preferably in experimental condensed matter physics or other relevant discipline. We are seeking to appoint an individual with significant experimental experience in 2D material characterization and advanced transport measurements. Applicants with strong expertise in microfabrication of van der Waals heterostructures, ionic transport, spectroscopic techniques, electrochemistry, or microfluidics will be preferably considered. Proven proficiency in writing quality research papers is essential. Candidate should be well-organised and self-motivated with excellent communication skills. The projects are expected to lead to high impact scientific publications, technological developments, and a boost in the career of the Research Associate
