Oxford Population Health (Nuffield Department of Population Health) contains world-renowned population health research groups and provides an excellent environment for multi-disciplinary research and teaching. The Clinical Trial Service Unit (CTSU) is a major international research institute within Oxford Population Health, and is one of the world’s leading centres for research into chronic diseases, especially heart disease, kidney disease and cancer.
We are seeking a Senior Clinical Research Fellow to work within an existing team of clinicians, epidemiologists, statisticians, programmers and study management staff involved in the design, conduct and analysis of studies of renal disease, diabetes and cardiovascular disease and the development and dissemination of novel trial methodology. The successful applicant will propose and evaluate the feasibility of new analyses and research projects, prepare manuscripts and grant applications, provide senior clinical support for on-going studies, develop and disseminate guidance, tools and resources for trial teams using novel data sources in clinical trials, such as re-use of healthcare systems data, and contribute to the training and development activities of the Nuffield Department of Population Health.
To be considered for this role you will hold a current GMC licence, be a member of fellow of a relevant Royal College and hold a certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in a relevant medical specialty. You will also have relevant clinical research experience, substantial experience in the use of healthcare systems data in clinical trials and good leadership, initiative, motivation and management skills.
The post is full time (although part time will be considered) and fixed term for 2 years.
