The Latin American Centre in the Oxford School of Global and Area Studies

The Latin American Centre in the Oxford School of Global and Area Studies (OSGA) seeks applications for a part-time (variable hours, 115 hours in total) Technical Programmer Assistant for the ESRC-IMPACT Threat-Reduction Pilot Project in Chile.  The position is fixed term, available to start as soon as possible until 31st March 2025.

About the Role:

The Technical Programmer Assistant will support the development of a threat-reduction pilot project in Chile, starting in August. This role involves developing a monitoring tool to reduce violence from extremism and to strengthen peace, justice, and democratic institutions. The project aims to establish a pilot monitoring, prosecution, and mediation system in Chile.

About You:
The successful candidate will hold a first degree, together with some relevant experience. They will be proficient in coding and software development and have experience with monitoring and data collection tools. The successful candidate will have an understanding of the political and social landscape in Latin American and be committed to the human rights and the protection of marginalized communities. They will have excellent communication skills with written and spoken fluency in Spanish language.
