Overview: The Institute of Geochemistry at the Chinese Academy of Sciences is seeking a highly motivated researcher to join our computational mineral physics team. The research will contribute to the core topics of our group- primarily critical element mineralisation, volatiles in the Earth and the storage of elements in the Earth. This is a flexible position and there are multiple topics on which they can work in these fields depending upon skills and interests and the researcher will be encouraged to develop their own research ideas focused in an area of computational mineral physics.

This job is located in Guiyang, Guizhou China. This is a city which is growing in stature due to the temperate environment- avoiding the extreme hot and cold of other places in China- the beautiful surroundings- forests and karst landscapes- and current investments- high speed rail now links it to major cities in China and a brand new subway system connects the city to itself. The institute is located in the new area of the city, Guanshanhu, which is more quiet and relaxed than the old city but still contains many restaurants and an active nightlife.
