About the role

The strategic procurement team is seeking a dedicated professional to join us in a pivotal role focused on driving efficiencies, enhancing sustainability outcomes, and advancing the strategic procurement maturity within our Estates & Facilities Category. This position is integral to supporting the delivery of our long-term Estates Capital programme including long term maintenance, encompassing multiple projects of diverse size, scale, and complexity.

This role aligns with the “Professional” competence level in the CIPS Global Standards. The post holder must demonstrate equivalent knowledge and capability, maintaining performance up to this competence threshold.

About you

You will lead efforts to secure value for money in the University’s commercial relationships, with primary responsibility for expenditure within an assigned category or categories of spend. With a strong background in procurement, you will excel in leading tenders, conducting competitive negotiations, and managing supplier and stakeholder relationships at a senior level. Experience with Public Contracts Regulations, relevant category expertise, and prior line management experience are highly desirable. However, we welcome individuals with the right attitude and general experience who can adapt their skillset accordingly.
