The School
Design, clustered within the School of the Arts, is an ambitious and growing academic unit. Games Design sits alongside Animation, Graphic Design, Interior Design, Product Design and User Experience Design at undergraduate level. Our postgraduate provision includes MA Animation, MA Interior Design, MSc Product Design, and an MA in Virtual and Augmented Realities.
The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic Lecturer to contribute to our vibrant Games Design provision. The majority of your work will involve teaching in a variety of settings, including small group tutorials/seminars and lectures; assessment; and the provision of pastoral and academic support to students. The successful candidate will possess a record of professional practice and engagement with the games industries, with a proficiency in Games Design practice, theory and concepts including prototyping and testing. Candidates should also demonstrate knowledge of analogue and digital Games Design skills and practice using Unity, Unreal, Blueprint and 3D asset creation software knowledge. Knowledge and experience of developing Augmented or Virtual Reality games is desirable.
Required Skills and Experience
Candidates will have expertise in teaching an area of Games Design at undergraduate level, as well as an interest in developing postgraduate provision in the future. The successful candidate will be supported in cultivating a research profile. Your role will support industry collaborations and live project development.
