Practice-Based Learning (placements) plays a vital component of all the pre-registration health profession programmes at QMU, offering students the opportunity to apply and consolidate their learning. It brings together academic theory, workplace practice to develop skills and competencies needed to register with a relevant professional body.
The postholder will be part of the Placement Team, acting as the first point of contact for student/external placement provider queries and ensuring that relevant information is maintained, updated and reviewed as appropriate to guarantee excellent and consistent service delivery to students and our external partners.
The postholder will take the lead on administrative tasks relating to student placements from pre-placement activities to post placement management, including receiving and responding to correspondence, preparation of reports and other materials, dealing with telephone and email enquiries relating to student and Practice Educator placement queries. Provide administrative support to students on placement, responding to individual requests and drafting correspondence on own initiative. Data entry and records management, contacting students, academics and Practice Educators, acting as a key contact for information relating to Practice Based Learning at QMU.
Effective communication with internal and external colleagues is essential in this role, as is a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
You must have excellent communication, networking, IT, administration and organisational skills together with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team. Excellent time management skills and the ability to use initiative are equally as important.
