Job Summary
We are looking to recruit an outstanding, committed and enthusiastic Research Associate to work on the ADVANCE-TBI study. The ‘ADVANCE’ (ArmeD SerVices TrAuma RehabilitatioN OutComE) Study is a prospective cohort study of the long-term medical and psychosocial outcomes of UK Servicemen who were seriously injured in the conflict in Afghanistan. Using the latest technologies including MRI (3T/7T) and fluid biomarkers, the study aims to longitudinally investigate brain health consequences of traumatic brain injury in this cohort. Further information can be found here: www.advancestudydmrc.org.uk. You will also have the opportunity to work on aligned projects where similar data is being collected, including the Advanced Brain Health Clinic project where 400+ retired footballers and rugby players are being assessed for long term outcomes.
This is an outstanding opportunity to be part of a world-class research team based at the UK Dementia Research Institute Care Research & Technology (CR&T) Centre at Imperial College London and contribute to cutting edge research into how brain injuries relate to long-term neurodegenerative disease, cognitive and neuropsychiatric outcomes. You will be working with lead scientists in the field, explore new research avenues in the area within the team and will be offered excellent training opportunities.
