The Department of Student Affairs is seeking to appoint an International Internship Officer on a fixed term one-year basis.

The International Internship Officer is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the internship placement process for both visiting study-abroad students and UG/PG students and providing general administrative support for the Programme. The International Internship Officer provides a first point of contact for students and internship organisations and a focal point for enquiries to the Internship Office.

The International Internship Officer’s main duties are to coordinate promotional information, applications and admission requirements for Richmond students; to coordinate internship contacts with local organisations, and manage expectations between organisations and interns; to provide advice on internship choices, CV advice, as well as managing internship expectations; to liaise regularly with the Academic Registrar and academic offices to ensure quality within the programme; to coordinate occasional internship workshops, open evenings, and university events, as well as class presentations; to regularly update the website, Handshake (the University’s careers app), placement database, spread sheets, and Power Campus content for the Internship Office; to keep up-to-date with UKVI, Data Protection and other student visa laws and requirements; and to support students throughout their work placements.

The successful candidate will normally have an undergraduate degree and have demonstrated success in managing relationships with external contacts. S/he will be able to demonstrate a commitment to skill development and teaching employability skills. An understanding of or familiarity with ed tech platforms would be an advantage.

Excellent communication and confidence in representing the University to others are essential. This role will work closely with the University’s Career Support Officer.

This position requires occasional travel in the UK.
