This is a new role offering a fulfilling opportunity to work in a large clinically facing department and to directly increase the impact and understanding people have about our incredible research.
You will be given responsibility to develop the role, creating aims and objectives and designing strategies to deliver the department's messages.
You will gain further exposure to web communications, developing the right content for the right audience at the right time to ensure that messages are not only seen, but understood by their intended audience.
You will join a busy professional business operations team, allowing you to gain exposure to multiple functions and services in the University.
You will meet regularly with our outstanding researchers to understand their successes and help them to reach the audience they wish to communicate with.
You will benefit from considerable external exposure through regular liaison with other communications specialists, external companies and industrial partners.
You will have opportunity to develop, both personally and professionally, through appropriate training events and interactions, and you will have the opportunity to learn more about professional services at the University and how they support research outputs.

We will expect you to be comfortable working in a collaborative manner, to advertise and promote the work and events taking place in the department and we will ask you to work closely with the Patient Participation and Public Engagement leads in the Department to further their aims in this area.
We expect you to be an excellent communicator in all forms with a keen eye for detail, and practical experience of common communications, media platforms and content management systems.

This will be a hybrid role at 0.6 FTE (22.3 hours), with the successful appointee expected to attend the biomedical campus for a minimum of one day per week.
