About the Role
We are seeking to appoint a Joint Educational Institute Administrator to take day-to-day responsibility of the finance, planning and logistics arrangements of the Joint Educational Institute (JEI) between Queen Mary University of London and Beijing University of Post and Telecommunications (BUPT) in Hainan, China. The role is dominantly based in the UK, with limited travel to China.
This role is pivotal to the smooth operation of the JEI, leading on all travel and visa arrangements for the school’s academic staff, maintaining appropriate financial records to report to senior leadership, coordinating the annual Summer School and Graduation activities, and providing logistical support to the continued development and growth of the partnership. The partnership in Hainan only launched in 2022, therefore we are experiencing an exciting time of growth of process creation, so this role will be required to respond in an agile manner to logistical challenges as they arise.
About You
We are looking for an experienced administrator who has experience within the Higher Education sector and is educated to a degree level or equivalent. As a new and fast-growing operation, we are looking for an individual who enjoys engaging in a varied range of projects, works proactively and flexibly in the face of a shifting educational landscape. The role will require some limited travel to China (currently once or twice a year for 1 week each) for work and we are looking for someone who sees this as an exciting opportunity to grow in the role and experience a new culture.
About the Department
Queen Mary and BUPT deliver dual degrees in Hainan, all in English, merging the best of British and Chinese education methods to springboard our students into an international market. The JEI enrolled its first students in September 2022 and now operates two programmes in Hainan, China. Queen Mary is a lead in Sino-Anglo Transnational Education and this partnership in Hainan with BUPT is set to be a flagship partnership with considerable student growth over the next few years.
