Location: Across Imperial College London campuses based primarily at White City but also attending Charing Cross Hospital (near Hammersmith) and South Kensington.

Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced public health or global health educator to contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching at the School of Public Health at Imperial College London. The post is hosted by the Undergraduate Public Health Education unit in the Department of Primary Care and Public Health. 

This post suits an experienced Public Health educator, practitioner or researcher.  Successful candidates will work closely with senior faculty, other members of the teaching team and administrative colleagues. While the majority of learning and teaching takes place  to teach across both on-campus MPH and online Global MPH programmes, as well as medical and medical bioscience students undertaking their undergraduate degrees. 

Duties and responsibilities 

  • Teaching Duties: You’ll design, deliver, and assess teaching materials, contribute to curriculum development, and teach as part of a team.
  • Student Supervision: You’ll oversee student work, provide academic guidance, assess progress, and offer constructive feedback.
  • Academic Coordination: Coordinate with lecturers, support admissions, and organise academic tutorials.
  • Pastoral Care: Act as a personal tutor, responsible for students’ well-being in health-related disciplines.
  • Administrative: Participate in departmental activities, committee work, and manage course administration tasks. 

Essential requirements 

  • You will hold a Master’s degree in public health or related discipline, with a formal qualification (or accreditation) in learning and teaching.
  • You will be able to demonstrate experience of working in Public Health – in practice, in an academic environment or both.
  • You will be a role model for our students, demonstrating strong professional values and technical skills (in biostatistics and epidemiology).
  • You will be familiar with using virtual learning environments and have a deep understanding of pedagogical principles – both for in-person and remote learning.
  • You will be able to work with a high-level of independence, work flexibly to meet challenging deadlines and be an effective and compelling communicator.
