The role

An exciting opportunity for a Research Fellow in Food Proteomics. The post is based in the Food and Molecular Immunology research group led by Professor Clare Mills in the Immunology Section of the School of Biosciences and Medicine, University of Surrey.  It forms part of her ongoing collaboration with Waters Corporation (Wilmslow, UK) and Nestlé (Lausanne, Switzerland).

As part of this role, you will apply state-of-the-art proteomics methods to define the molecular characteristics of extensively hydrolysed infant formula (EHF) as determinants of their immunological activity. The remaining work involves analysis of samples using chromatographic methods and application of a protoemics pipeline to analyse mass spectrometry data collected on a large library of samples.

As part of the project the post holder will also have training visits to the Waters Corporation MS centre at Wilmslow, UK. 

About you

The successful candidate will have a PhD in biochemistry, biological chemistry or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience. Experience of using mass spectrometry for ‘omics analysis characterisation and other molecular analysis (e.g chromatography, gel electrophoresis) is essential. The successful candidate should be available for immediate start.
