About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a hardworking individual to join the Climate Action Team for a varied and impactful placement year. You will support the team in facilitating the University of Bath’s whole institution response to the climate emergency across its core mission of research and education and addressing our own impacts.
This placement role offers a fantastic opportunity to be involved in meaningful projects, vital to the University’s work tackling climate change. The exact activities of the role can be partly tailored to the interests and talents of the successful candidate who will make a difference to progress in taking action and engaging our community in transformative change.
This placement offers you an opportunity to gain direct experience of driving forward climate action within the setting of a complex organisation, gaining insight and experience of the common challenges all organisations are facing in addressing this.
This position is offered full time, fixed term for up to one year.
About you
The team has a broad and diverse remit, and we are open to applicants from any course, but a significant proportion of the work will be working with our team and colleagues across the University working on staff and student comms and engagement programmes (such as LEAF and Green Impact). It is expected that you will take a lead in delivering student-focused comms particularly, but this should not be seen as restrictive – you will be involved in a wide range of activities across all areas.
We are looking for a hard-working candidate who is driven to support and enable climate action across our community at the university. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills and characteristics:
