There is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Hertfordshire Business School’s Executive Education Team in the role of Employer Liaison Tutor, supporting apprentices on the Business and Management apprenticeship programmes at L6 (UG) and L7 (PG). You will work within a friendly and collegiate team in the development and delivery of part time, mature, leadership and management apprenticeships, supporting the apprentices in their work-based learning.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
You will be required to work with a significant portfolio of apprentices (and their employer mentors) supporting their apprenticeship journey, providing pastoral support, supporting compliance requirements and administrative tasks. You will work in a team of academics to support the apprentices towards successful End Point Assessment by communicating effectively with apprentices and employers, through the quarterly Progress Review Meetings. You will engage with their Employer Mentors, working to high professional standards, and you will support Module Leaders where required in teaching workshops.
Duties and responsibilities also include giving written and verbal feedback to apprentices on their evidence and narratives, collecting and reporting on a range of data to demonstrate the development of our apprentices, working with employers to identify appropriate Off the Job training and a variety of apprenticeship administration.
Skills and Experience required
Academic/practitioner experience relevant to the subject area and industry sector and a thorough understanding of its working practices as well as experience of coaching or mentoring or delivering work-based training are essential. You will have excellent interpersonal, listening, communication and networking skills with the ability to build good working relationships and give feedback both written and verbal. Proven administrative expertise and experience of providing pastoral and academic support to students and experience for the positions with proven pastoral support skills and experience with working with managers and senior leaders (and their Line Managers) is desirable.
You will need to have proven experience of working autonomously, managing own workload and priorities, whilst meeting deadlines. You must also have practical I.T skills, including good numeracy, literacy and MS Office package skills and ability to pick up new packages (eg OneNote). Having a professional service-oriented approach, managing the progress of multiple cohorts of learners on their apprenticeship, influencing apprentices and mentors whilst maintaining compliance and administrative rigour are desirable for this role.
Qualifications required
You will hold a minimum of an undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification, or substantial proven work experience; a recognised teaching qualification or commitment to undertake one or coaching qualifications is desirable.
