Job summary
As the Electrical Maintenance Supervisor for Imperial, you will be expected to work as part of a team providing electrically biased support to our Academic, Research, Teaching and Administrative functions. Our Maintenance team carry out Reactive and PPM works to assets, project support and infrastructure to ensure all College activities can be carried out.
Duties and responsibilities
- You will manage and lead a team of Maintenance technicians carrying out Planned and Reactive maintenance duties to, Electrical, Mechanical and Building Fabric assets.
- You will develop and review Risk Assessments and Method Statements for works.
- You will provide support and advice to other members of the Maintenance teams and customers’.
- You will manage and control sub-contractors under appointment of ICL.
- You will provide out of hours cover on an ad hoc basis as required.
- You will adhere compliance to meet external regulatory bodies and promote safety culture.
- You will undertake appropriate administrative tasks including closing out of all PPM / Reactive tasks with clear, concise, and accurate information.
- You will undertake other duties which may arise commensurate with the grade of the post as directed by line manager.
Essential requirements
- Served a served a recognised apprenticeship and attained an appropriate technical qualification e.g. City & Guilds Craft Certificate / NVQ level 4, certificate in leadership and supervision, IOSH.
- Has worked within a KPI environment.
- An up-to-date knowledge of relevant statutory Health and Safety legislation, GxP and recommendations.
- Be computer literate and able to use MS Office products show Word, Teams, Outlook for e-mail, and calendar appointments.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively, contributing to team events and make a major contribution to the technical excellence and successful performance of the Estates Operations function.
- Ability to manage a busy technical team to ensure the successful delivery of service and act as a mentor/coach to support their professional development.
- Excellent time management skills: the ability to plan and juggle a number of tasks and meet deadlines under pressure.
- Have a proven ability to work within a busy multi-tasking team with a flexible approach to daily work and a proactive approach to resolving problems.
- Excellent communication and customer care skills.
- Knowledge of Planon would be an advantage and use of tablet.

The working hours are 35 hours per week, on a 5 day rotating shift pattern (Hammersmith campus) or a 7 day rotating shift pattern (South Kensington).
