Do you want to be part of an award-winning Estates & Facilities Management Department (EFM)? EFM looks after the University of Sheffield's buildings, facilities and grounds. As a leading Russell Group institution, our estate contains a varied range of properties which understandably present their own challenges. Some, such as the Arts Tower, are of prodigious architectural importance and must be preserved as part of our national heritage. Others, such as the award-winning Information Commons and the Students’ Union, are modern and sophisticated in their design and servicing. We are committed to delivering and supporting excellent customer focussed services and to do this we need to recruit the best staff dedicated to supporting sector leading learning, teaching and research – and that’s why we need you…

We have a fantastic opportunity for a BMS Controls Maintenance Engineer to join one of the dynamic operational teams within Engineering and Maintenance at The University of Sheffield. If you are an effective, efficient and self-disciplined individual, we are interested in hearing from you!

You will be in a site-wide role, joining a team that works across the estate to deliver the long-term strategic development of the BMS, planned preventative maintenance to critical controls systems and decisive action when called to address system failures. Operating both Trend and Sigma controls systems, you will support the team to provide a high quality, high value service to the University.

You will contribute to the continuous improvement of the BMS, deliver effective controls maintenance and seek solutions to the wide range of challenges faced when operating within a unique and diverse property portfolio.

The E&M team, which is part of the wider EFM department, is split into three distinct zones: East, West and Outer. Each zone team operates to ensure the University estate is kept to the first class standard expected from a world-class University.
