The University of East Anglia was built to embody a radical new vision for higher education, where interdisciplinarity is crucial, and excellence in both research and teaching is valued. Since 1963, we have been breaking down boundaries between students and researchers, arts and science, business and social responsibility. Today, we are consistently ranked within the top quarter of universities in the UK for the quality of research and teaching and are tackling some of the key challenges of the changing world and breaking new boundaries across our priority research themes of health, climate and creative.

Following a period of challenge, we are moving with purpose and have launched the University’s ambitious Strategy 2030, setting out how we are going to “think boldly, do things differently and lead the way”. This also encompasses a number of key new appointments to our Executive Team. Joining UEA at this time offers a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in the transformation of the University and help set our future direction and ensure our prosperity and success.

As the University continues to innovate in pursuit of excellence, we are now seeking an exceptional Pro-Vice-Chancellor to lead our Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences and to deliver on the University’s ambitions to grow and invest in health over the coming years. The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences is a vibrant community of around 2,000 students and 200 staff split across the Norwich Medical School and the School of Health Sciences. The Faculty’s primary focus is supporting regional, national and international partners in Health by delivering outstanding education and innovative research. The Faculty is engaged in world-leading research across three centres – metabolic health, lifespan health and population health and has strong links with the Norwich Research Park, comprising The Quadram Institute, the John Innes Centre, the Earlham Institute and the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital,  NHS Foundation Trust as well as a range of other Health partners.
