The UCL Institute of Clinical Trials and Methodology, established on 1st August 2013, is a leading research hub composed of two primary departments: the MRC Clinical Trials Unit at UCL (MRC CTU) and the Comprehensive Clinical Trials Unit at UCL (CCTU). Additionally, it includes two virtual members: the Cancer Research UK/UCL Cancer Trials Centre and the PRIMENT CTU.
With a dedicated team of 300 professionals and an annual income exceeding £25 million, the Institute excels in conducting all phases of clinical trials, meta-analysis, and epidemiological studies across diverse diseases. About the role
A unique opportunity to lead on the financial management of the Institute and work with multiple stakeholders.
The Finance Manager is a key member of the Institute’s professional services management team, with significant responsibility for the financial affairs of the Institute at strategic and operational levels. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to play a key role in implementation of a financial strategy of an evolving Institute, also benefiting from the opportunities of being part of the larger financial and administrative community of the Faculty of Population Health, Life and Medical Sciences and UCL.
The role is responsible for daily management and administration of the ICTM Finance team, oversight of research grant management and monitoring, staffing, and progressing new initiatives and developments. The role will be responsible for their’s and the team’s overall performance.
The post holder will report to the Institute Manager
Interviews will be held week commencing 12th August 2024.
About you
You will have proven financial management skills and excellent interpersonal skills to enable effective communication with a broad range of stakeholders.
If you have knowledge of processes and regulations associated with financial administration, particularly research costing within Higher Education Institutions then this role could be for you.
You will have experience in managing change and a record of promoting excellence in areas of administration and the provision of support services.
