The role
This is an exciting opportunity to work with an international team to organise and deliver the ‘Accessible Results’ study. This two year NIHR funded research project aims to develop tools and guidance to help patients with a wide range of needs to access and understand their blood test results online. Improving accessibility of online blood test results is important for patient-centred care, patient safety, GP workload, and health inequalities.
The postholder will be based at the Centre for Academic Primary Care in Canynge Hall, Bristol Medical School. You will work with a team of academics at the University of Bristol in close collaboration with the University of Manchester. You will collaborate with senior academics Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, USA. You will also work with non-academic collaborators including clinicians, NHS and industry stakeholders and patient and public contributors from diverse communities.
What will you be doing?
You will be the first point of contact for the Accessible Results study, communicating with participating GP practices, public contributors, collaborators and stakeholders. You will use initiative to respond to queries and unforeseen problems. You will develop and maintain efficient systems and procedures for data management, and will design and prepare a range of documents and study materials. You will organise a range of events including co-production workshops with diverse communities and stakeholder meetings with NHS and industry stakeholders: liaising with venues, caterers and researchers. You will maintain accurate financial records and audit trails using University systems. You will work with the University comms team to disseminate information about the study findings to relevant stakeholders.
