The School of Life Sciences at the University of Sussex is at the forefront of research in the UK. In the recent Research Excellence Framework assessment (REF 2021), 100% of our Impact cases in Biological Sciences and Chemistry were rated as world-leading or internationally excellent. The School has received substantial recent University investment and is embarking on an exciting and extensive, muti-million pound refurbishment and improvement project.
We wish to appoint a Research Assistant or Research Fellow to work on the molecular mechanisms of transcriptional reprogramming by the nuclear antigens encoded by the cancer-associated Epstein Barr Virus.
You will join the friendly and dedicated team of Prof Michelle West in the Biochemistry and Biomedicine Department in the School of Life Sciences. You will work alongside other experienced team members and use molecular and gene targeting techniques to study long-range gene expression control by Epstein-Barr Virus nuclear antigens EBNA 3A, 3B and 3C in B cells. Experience of molecular biology, cell culture and knowledge of transcription control is desirable.
