This is a full-time, fixed-term appointment for two years, renewable by a further one year subject to funding.

You will join one of the world’s largest and best-known environmental/resource economics groups, which bridges the Department of Geography and Environment, and the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment. We enjoy very strong international student demand across a wide range of graduate and undergraduate programmes in the department.

The successful candidate will work as part of a team teaching on the department’s undergraduate, postgraduate and online programmes on environmental economics and policy, as well as developing their own research agenda. They will also participate in wider departmental and School activities as required, as well as carrying out administrative duties, whilst fostering an engaging and supportive learning environment.

Candidates should have completed, or be close to completing, a PhD in economics, environmental/resource economics, or a closely related field by the post start date. Very good knowledge of the field of environmental/resource economics is essential, and ability to teach environmental economics to non-specialists is highly desirable. Relevant teaching experience, the ability to work in close partnership with fellow teachers, and excellent communication and presentation skills, are also essential. The other criteria that will be used when shortlisting for this post can be found in the Person Specification, which is attached to this vacancy on the LSE’s online recruitment system.

We offer an occupational pension scheme, generous annual leave and excellent training and development opportunities.

For further information about the post, please see the how to apply document, job description and the person specification.

If you have any technical queries with applying on the online system, please use the “contact us” links at the bottom of the LSE Jobs page. Should you have any queries about the role, please email geog.dept@lse.ac.uk

Regrettably, we are unable to accept any late applications.

An LSE Fellowship is intended to be an entry route to an academic career and is deemed by the School to be a career development position.  As such, applicants who have already been employed as a LSE Fellow for three years in total are not eligible to apply.
