We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic University Lecturer or Teacher to join the School of Allied Health Professions, Nursing and Midwifery. Applications are welcomed from those with enthusiasm and background in either research, teaching or a mixture of both.

 Lecturer

  • We are looking for candidates with a track record of research in an area of Orthoptic practice.
  • You will be: committed to developing your research profile through high-quality publications, applying for research funding and working with communities and partners to deliver impact.
  • You will also be: an engaging teacher and play a key role in devising, designing, preparing, and delivering innovative teaching programmes, equipping our graduates to advance understanding in Orthoptics and be at the forefront of our profession.

Teacher

  • You will have the vision and drive to help us achieve our ambition of delivering an outstanding student experience and to equip our graduates to advance understanding in Orthoptics and be at the forefront of our profession.
  • You will have expertise in Orthoptic practice and or research and related teaching experience and be committed to student engagement, student recruitment and student support.
  • This is an exciting opportunity to work with colleagues to deliver the pre-registration  Orthoptic undergraduate degree programme and possible apprenticeship route. Teaching will also include contribution to the post graduate programmes the MMedSci Vision and Strabismus and the ACP in Ophthalmology (paediatrics) traditional and apprenticeship routes. 
  • Whatever your experience, we are looking for new ideas and approaches to help shape our programmes and educate graduates to be at the forefront of the profession. Other duties will include student engagement, student recruitment and student support.
