Applications are invited for the post of Teaching Fellow in Creative Writing: Playwriting, Screenwriting and Adaptation in the Department of English.

The successful candidate will join a team of prize-winning writers and dedicated teachers in the department, including seven Fellows of the Royal Society of Literature. Our BA English and Creative Writing was ranked 2nd in the UK (Complete University Guide 2024) and we are proud that our student body is very diverse. 

You will have a national profile as an author with a track record of writing for stage and/or screen, and experience of teaching creative writing at undergraduate level. You will have demonstrated the ability to work with others in teaching and/or administration. You will be committed to inclusive teaching and diversifying the curriculum and have a strong commitment to pastoral support and mentoring. 

Candidates will be expected to provide teaching in creative writing at BA levels, with an emphasis on playwriting and screenwriting. The post holder will also be required to teach a course on the theory and critical history of screen adaptations for English and Creative Writing students and to contribute to co-curricular enrichment activities.
