About the Role

Working as part of the Research Development Function, you will provide a research support service to PIs in the designated Faculty. As a member of the Department of Research, Engagement and Innovation Services (REIS), you will identify suitable funding calls and prioritise University responses to external funding opportunities in conjunction with potential PIs, ensuring compliance with internal University policies and procedures, and funding providers’ guidelines.
The role provides support and guidance to academics, principal investigators and professional services, in all work associated with the preparation, formulation and application for research funding and award. You will utilise the University’s Award Management System (AMS) to progress and validate grant applications for submission to funder.
The role supports principal investigators, professional service staff and senior management in the co-ordination of the defined research portfolio and external funding opportunities. You will ensure that the standards are adhered to, ensuring that the highest quality of applications are developed and submitted to sponsors. This will be achieved through a managed and robust quality enhancement process for both bid writing and technical review for all applications.
You will work as an integrated part of the Research Hub team, responding to Faculty priorities, reporting progress and working effectively with other professional service roles to provide an effective and joined-up service to researchers.
