We are looking to appoint a Research Assistant to join the research group led by Dr. Matt Towers.
The successful applicant will provide support for a BBSRC-funded project investigating how cells in the developing chick wing ‘know’ their positions so that they can use this information to develop into the different skeletal elements (humerus, radius/ulna and digits). This project directly follows on from our recent work in which we developed a powerful chick wing tissue explant system.
Applicants must have a BSc or MSc (or equivalent experience) in a relevant biological discipline such as Developmental Biology. Experience in ex vivo techniques, flow cytometry and Light-sheet microscopy are also essential.
We’re one of the best not-for-profit organisations to work for in the UK. The University’s Total Reward Package includes a competitive salary, a generous Pension Scheme and annual leave entitlement, as well as access to a range of learning and development courses to support your personal and professional development.
We build teams of people from different heritages and lifestyles from across the world, whose talent and contributions complement each other to greatest effect. We believe diversity in all its forms delivers greater impact through research, teaching and student experience.
