We are looking for the equivalent of 1 FTE Lecturer(s) Teaching to cover a maternity leave for a duration of 10 months or the early return of the post-holder. This role is offered on a job share basis. 

About the role

We are looking for two or more colleagues who are interested in fractional contracts who can teach across a range of programmes at undergraduate and masters level. The areas of specialism include assessment, teaching and learning, schooling and society and science education. 

You will enjoy the teaching, curriculum and pedagogic development and unit leadership work and who would be keen to develop pedagogically innovative and intellectually engaging blended learning for undergraduate and master’s students. 

We are particularly interested in people who have experience in supporting and leading on curriculum development for Undergraduate programmes. 

Applicants should articulate what proportion of time they would be interested in working with us. We are keen to support new colleagues to develop progressive teaching careers in a collegiate context within our department.

Part of this role is to undertake science education teaching in the Department of Education (approximately .2FTE). The areas of specialism are teaching and learning in general, and science education (pedagogy, assessment, curriculum, learning theory). The role includes teaching and unit convenor. The teaching requires pedagogically innovative and intellectually engaging blended learning, with specific reference to interdisciplinary opportunities across STEM subjects and education.

The Department has an international reputation for teaching and research that develops theory, policy and practice in relation to education internationally (www.bath.ac.uk/education).
