We are looking to recruit a full-time Associate Lecturer. The role is available from 1 October 2024 until 31 October 2025.
The role offers the opportunity for hybrid working – some time on campus and some from home.
We welcome applications from candidates interested in working part-time hours (minimum 3 days a week) or job-sharing arrangements.
The role
We are looking to recruit an Associate Lecturer to work within the Clinical Education Development and Research (Cedar) team with academics who support the delivery of the Low Intensity Psychological Therapies Practice (PWP) programme. This is an exciting opportunity to teach within Cedar as it grows and develops the mental health workforce. We offer a wide-ranging portfolio of professional training programmes, from undergraduate up to master's level, through to post-qualification and advanced practice courses. There will be scope to work across these programmes depending on skills, experience and interests.
We would consider part-time applicants, although, we would require a minimum of 3 days per week with us. The vacancy is within the PG/GradCert PWP training team, who deliver teaching online and face-to-face. The role will include travel to on campus teaching (16 face to face teaching days per cohort, with 2 cohorts a year). We teach in various locations including Exeter (University campus), Bristol and London. Therefore, we are unable to offer the post remotely, but would be able to accommodate hybrid working. Please indicate in your application your preference for the number of days you would be looking to work in the post and the region(s) you would most easily be able to travel to.
Although we are recruiting posts on a fixed term basis, it is highly likely that, subject to funding, the posts can be extended. As such, we are hoping to recruit staff that are passionate about training skilled PWPs and are committed to this role rather than wanting a short-term contract or a temporary role.
The role of Associate Lecturer (Education and Scholarship) will include supporting the student learning experience using a range of approaches and modes of delivery appropriate to the teaching allocated, specifically the delivery of the PWP teaching and training, both remotely and face-to-face at several locations (for current teaching areas, see above). You will contribute to the continued development of training materials, help deliver training days and lectures, give feedback on role plays and contribute to marking clinical and academic assessments. You will act as a personal tutor and a point of contact for trainees and their workplace supervisors.
Please ensure you read the Job Description and Person Specification for full details of this role.
