Faculty

You will join a truly innovative team in the School of Pharmacy and Medical Sciences with a suite of fully integrated undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and excellence in research. We use a range of innovative pedagogical methods including team based learning, case based learning and technology enhanced learning

What you will be doing:

  • Contributing to the teaching, assessment and supervision requirements primarily on the Masters in Physician Associates Studies (MPAS) programme and, where required, on other postgraduate or undergraduate courses within the School of Pharmacy and Medical Sciences.
  • The postholder will lead the Integrated Medical Sciences 1 (IMS1) module and be responsible for ensuring effective teaching, assessment and learning within the module, working alongside the programme lead and other academic staff.

Qualifications/ experience:

  • Medical or healthcare degree (eg. Medicine, Physician Associate, Nursing, Pharmacy or Advanced Clinical/Nursing Practitioner) or equivalent
  • Currently registered as a healthcare professional under either the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), General Medical Council (GMC), Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) or General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) or registered on the Physician Associate Managed Voluntary Register (PAMVR) 
  • Experience of teaching and facilitating / supporting in relevant discipline in Higher Education or in the workplace at undergraduate and/or postgraduate taught level 
  • Experience of teaching medical topics such as consultation skills, medical examination and procedural skills, data interpretation and clinical decision making skills, medicines optimisation, healthcare leadership, emotional intelligence, human factors, patient safety and management of core clinical conditions 
  • An understanding of the guiding documents relating to Physician Associate education, including the UK Physician Associate National Curriculum and the graduate outcomes framework for Medical Associate Professions
