The purpose of the role is to provide administrative coordination for the Building Rural-Urban healthCare Equity for Scotland(BRUCES) programme to Dr Rosemary Hollick and Professor Peter Murchie, the co-leads of this five year Applied Health Services Research Programme grant funded by the Chief Scientists’ Office, and to other project investigators as required.
The post holder will provide administrative support to the co-leads of the BRUCES Applied Health Services Research Programme, administrating this 60-month research programme and acting as a focal point for all organisational aspects of the programme. This programme is called BRUCES - Building Rural-Urban healthCare Equity for Scotland. It aims to understand how and why health and healthcare for people living in different types of rural communities differs from those living in urban areas, and how we can improve it. During the programme a team of experienced doctors, researchers (including health economists, social scientists, policy experts) and patients interested in improving rural healthcare delivery will work together with key external stakeholders from across Scotland in delivery research across four co-ordinated workstreams. The post-holder will be responsible for all aspects of administering the project. Their primary point of contact will be the project’s co-Principal Investigators, Dr Rosemary Hollick and Professor Peter Murchie. Secondary contact will be with those Co-Investigators leading project Work Packages. The main tasks will involve liaison with all stakeholders, providing high quality administrative support to the co-leads and across the four programme workstreams, acting as a point of contact for all participants, collating and monitoring relevant research governance paperwork (e.g. ethics, sponsorship etc) and assisting the co-leads in organizing meetings and events, drafting reports and coordination activities throughout the project.
Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 5 salary scale, £31,396 - £34,980 per annum, and negotiable with placement according to qualifications and experience.
