The AI Centre for Value Based Healthcare is led jointly by King’s College London and Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust and is a highly collaborative, cross-institutional centre of excellence that pools expertise from across the healthcare ecosystem in artificial intelligence (AI), data science, research, and clinical practice.

About the role

The AI Centre for Value Based Healthcare seeks to appoint a senior member of professional services staff to be responsible for its research governance across its AI development and deployment platforms.  The role will spearhead our work on regulatory affairs, oversee our ethics frameworks, and will engage with our network to influence best practice in healthcare AI. Additionally the role will oversee AI deployment and deployment research on our platforms, reviewing applications and coordinating a research oversight committee of patients, NHS staff, data protection leads, and academics.

This is a full time post (35 Hours per week), and you will be offered an  a fixed term contract for 2 years.

About You

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria

  • A research, philosophy, legal or technical degree OR proven track record with extensive work experience in a relevant specialist with extensive management experience 
  • Extensive knowledge on data governance in practice, including the development of protocols, legal contracts/agreements, and DPIA completion 
  • Experience writing and overseeing ethics frameworks for innovative research 
  • Understanding on IT including cybersecurity and computational thinking 
  • An understanding of the trends in national data and AI policy in the England 
  • Experience working with NHS patients 
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills, with the ability to accurately document and present complex technical information clearly 
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiating skills, with experience of developing strong working relationships across complex organisations

Desirable criteria

  • Experience of working in a healthcare consortium 
  • A strong network of healthcare AI professionals  
  • Experience of presenting to large audiences 
  • Budgeting and financing skills 
  • An understanding of business operations and strategy
