This is a fixed term appointment for 2 years

The LSE Law School is consistently ranked as one of the best Law Schools in the world. Key to our continued success is the development of a Professional Services Team that matches the quality of our research, teaching and outreach. The Law School is an inclusive, challenging and rewarding place to work. We are looking for individuals who wish to contribute to, and thrive in, this environment.

LSE Law School has a diverse and vibrant events programme. We host around 200 events per year, ranging from Convene and Social events that provide our students with opportunities for learning, enrichment and community building beyond the lecture theatre, Research events that focus on exchange of cutting-edge ideas, and we warmly welcome everyone with an interest in law to our Public Events.

The Events Co-ordinator is a key operational role in the support of this large, varied and high-quality events programme. The post-holder works closely with Law School faculty, external speakers, Law School professional colleagues and a wide range of contacts across LSE on the planning and delivery of this events programme. The post-holder will help to promote events, and will attend allocated events to ensure their smooth running.

Our events often take place during the evening, and the post-holder will be required on campus two to three nights per week during term time, with time taken back in lieu. Exceptionally, overtime payments may be offered instead of TOIL. During term time, this is a predominantly campus-based role.

Candidates must have demonstrable administrative experience, and experience of organising events. Strong written and proof-reading skills are essential, as is the ability to exercise initiative with a proactive attitude that enables the post-holder to think through the requirements of a task, and put in place the necessary tasks to achieve it on time. A strong commitment to providing a high-quality service is also essential with a willingness to be flexible in approach to meet service delivery needs.

We offer an occupational pension scheme, generous annual leave, hybrid working, and excellent training and development opportunities.

For further information about the post, please see the how to apply document, job description and the person specification.

If you have any technical queries with applying on the online system, please use the “contact us” links at the bottom of the LSE Jobs page. Should you have any queries about the role, please email law.school.manager@lse.ac.uk.

The closing date for receipt of applications is 21 July 2024 (23.59 UK time). Regrettably, we are unable to accept any late applications.

We expect to hold interviews in the week commencing 29 July 2024.
