The Courtauld works to advance how we see and understand the visual arts, as an internationally-renowned centre for the teaching, research of art history and a major public gallery.  Founded in 1932, the organisation has been at the forefront of the study of art ever since.

The Courtauld cares for one of the greatest art collections in the UK, displayed at The Courtauld Gallery in Somerset House, central London. Academically, The Courtauld is a specialist university and home to the largest community of art historians and conservators in the UK. It offers a range of degree programmes in the History of Art, curating and the conservation of easel and wall paintings.

We are looking to recruit two Finance Business Partners.

Brief details of key responsibilities:

  • To act as business partner to members of the Senior Management Team, academics, and heads of support functions.
  • Provide accurate, reliable, and timely financial information including monthly management accounts, forecast, budget-holder reports and project reporting.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget, and the ongoing monitoring of actual and forecast financial performance
  • Produce cash flow reports and prepare and monitor the cash flow forecast.
  • Work with the Head of FP&A to develop key performance metrics, appraise current activities of the organisation, and identify and communicate opportunities to maximise revenue and/or reduce expenditure.

Brief details of essential criteria and skills:

  • A qualified accountant holding a recognised CCAB qualification.
  • Significant knowledge and experience of running or participating in budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Sound experience and knowledge of management reporting best practice including variance analysis and non financial metrics.
  • Knowledge and experience of financial modelling, project accounting and cashflow reporting
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to establish and maintain relationships with people at all levels.
  • Proven analytical skills and the ability to highlight and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Knowledge and some experience of HE reports including to OfS & UKRI, OFFA, HESA, and TRAC.
