The Global Lounge Manager will support the Head of Global Lounge in running all aspects of the service and event programme delivery, manage operations and the team.
What will you be doing?
The GL is busy delivering events all year round, with focus on:
- Community building and celebrating all cultures during term time;
- Welcoming and supporting the transition of new international students into their life in the UK during arrival periods;
- Reducing isolation during vacations.
Responsibilities:
- Managing 2x Coordinators and supporting them to manage GL Assistants and GL Ambassadors;
- Ensuring all programmes meet objectives, are delivered on time and within budget;
- Working at the events;
- Overseeing and engaging with functional and promotional content on Global Lounge IT platforms (website, databases, booking systems, social media); stepping in to fill in for team members when required;
- Managing Meet and Greet service (LHR, coach station, accommodation shuttles);
- Managing GL Ambassador programme (recruitment, training and development, payments);
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders;
- Deputising for Head of GL;
- Overseeing and contributing to all other parts of GL service delivery, e.g. venue management and booking processes, staff rotas, food deliveries, running meetings, report writing, analysing feedback and implementing changes.
You will be working on campus most days. 1 x Working From Home (WFH) day is granted most weeks, if business needs are met. WFH day is not a set day, but is agreed in advance on a monthly rota.
Some weekend work is required – agreed in advance, on rotation with other team members.
Currently the team runs 3x evening activities per week during term time (usually finishing by 8pm), we aim not to schedule more than 2 evenings per week per team member. There are fewer evening events outside of termtime.
