The role

The International Partnership & Relations (Scholarships & Sponsors) team are responsible for all aspects of the University’s relationship with international funders, as well as managing the University’s own International Scholarship Programme and a number of smaller scale scholarship schemes offered in partnership with external organisations. It’s a busy team with lots going on, and although our work is cyclical in nature, the changing funding landscape keeps us on our toes and drives us to be innovative and focused on continuous improvement.

The International Scholarships Officer is responsible for the administration of scholarship schemes as well as for providing a comprehensive support service to scholarship students, staff and external funding organisations.

We are a results-driven team with high standards, but we support each other and have some fun along the way.

What will you be doing?

The International Scholarships Officer plays a pivotal role in helping the team deliver on agreed objectives.

Within the first 12 months you can expect to have:

  • Effectively administered a number of internal and external scholarship schemes under the direction of the International Scholarships Manager.
  • Played a key role in the organisation and delivery of a range of events for international scholars, both virtually and in-person.
  • Ensured that funding for all scholarship recipients is correctly logged on our systems and allocated to the scholars.
  • Created or updated marketing materials showcasing our scholarship offering (including copy for the web and printed materials).
  • Analysed scholarship applicant and enrolment data and prepared easily digestible briefings and reports for internal stakeholders.
  • Provided support for the International Scholarships and Sponsors Assistants, as required.

We are looking for someone with a keen eye for detail and a desire to continuously improve the processes that they are a part of.  

Ideally, you might already have some marketing and/or event management experience, but if not, a willingness to get stuck-in and learn on the job is essential.
