Post Summary
The School of Education seeks to appoint an Assistant Professor in Further Education Training (FET) and Inclusion. The successful candidate will be expected to teach on the Further Education and Inclusion suite of programmes (Certificate, Diploma and Masters) which are aimed at students who work in the FET sector. The successful candidate will also be expected to support the School’s other programmes in the area of inclusion. The post of Assistant Professor in Further Education Training and Inclusion is essential for the continued development of teaching, research and supervision within the growing field of FET and Inclusion. The successful candidate will contribute to the School’s postgraduate taught and research programmes including supervision at masters and doctoral levels. The post-holder will undertake research, knowledge generation and dissemination in the field of FET and inclusive education.
The Assistant Professor in Further Education and Training (FET) and Inclusion will be pivotal in supporting and expanding programmes on equality, diversity and inclusion within the School. Working with existing staff, they will be responsible for the development and teaching of modules on postgraduate programmes in the area of inclusive education, student diversity and educational inequality. The Assistant Professor will also be responsible for facilitating workshops and tutorials and given the emphasis on Universal Design for Learning in the School, will support its implementation.
