About the role

The Department of Biology is seeking to recruit a Postdoctoral Research Associate. This is a 20% FTE post, funded by BBSRC, working under the direction of Geraldine Wright.

This position will fund a researcher to track and analyse data from whole bumblebee colonies. 

About you

The researcher will be responsible for implementing and developing tracking software for individual members of a colony. They will be responsible for developing methods for high throughput data analysis, preparing figures and text for reports and for scientific manuscripts. Expertise in coding in python and R as well as a high level of the application of statistics to multivariate datasets and the development of analyses pipelines is essential. The person hired will be required to travel to the industrial partners at Thanet Earth regularly to liaise with collaborators and to organize joint meetings to discuss data and methods for collection.
