The National Centre for Cross Disciplinary Social Work (NCCDSW) at BU has a sector leading national reputation through the delivery of trusted educational programmes, research and consultancy. This brings an ability to respond quickly to employer needs and policy requirements and has led to the Centre working with over half of the local authorities in England and many health and social care providers on CPD delivery, consultancy, funded research and commissioned impact evaluations. The BU Research Centre for Seldom Heard Voices brings together academics from across different disciplines including social sciences and social work to engage with marginalised communities and to amplify often excluded or silenced voices. The Centre has a strong track record of developing collaborative partnerships with communities and key health, social care and voluntary sector stakeholders and for using participatory and co-created approaches with the aim to apply research to real-world challenges to maximise societal impact.
The Centres are situated at Bournemouth Gateway Building at the Lansdowne Campus, in central Bournemouth and close to its beautiful beaches and amenities.
