About this role
This is a developmental role for a Diagnostic Radiographer to work with our dynamic school to create new radiography courses including apprenticeships. This role will be supported by a curriculum coach (HCPC registered) and placement lecturer to support you in developing the curriculum whilst working towards taking the courses through a successful accreditation, as well as both working closely and developing relationships with employer partners. There will then be the opportunity to become the Programme Leader on successful accreditation and recruitment for the course if you would like to remain within the academic world.
A fully funded part-time 2 year M.Res with stipend may also be available to suitable early career candidates wishing to explore a research career in parallel.
About you
You will have knowledge, experience and skills within the field of Diagnostic Radiography with a broad understanding of educational practices, particular in work related learning. The appointed post holder should ideally have at least five years’ knowledge, experience and skills within the NHS in the field of Diagnostic Radiography with experience of practice education. You will share your expert professional knowledge to a broader audience thus ensuring a curriculum which is contemporary and prepares all learners to engage in the field.
You will be motivated, proactive and engage with collaborative working both as a team and with wider partners. We aim to ensure that we equip our graduates with the skills necessary to succeed in the workplace upon graduation and throughout their professional careers. As such, we not only focus on the acquisition of caring science knowledge, but also on vital transferable skills, such as compassionate leadership and robust digital skills.
Evidence of any of the following will be an advantage: Masters level education, Publications in peer-reviewed journals, consultancy delivery and development, research income generation, or the desire and potential to develop in these areas.
You will work within the team to achieve successful accreditation and to strengthen the distinctiveness of the University’s student experience as high-quality, personalised, accessible and aspirational.
You’ll need to demonstrate an ability to work effectively and positively both independently and within a small academic team, you will develop your skills and knowledge as an academic including excellent teaching methods with the ability to develop a variety of approaches to learning and teaching that is student-centred, inclusive and flexible.
