Summary of the role
Technical Operations and Strategy is recruiting a new full-time (1 FTE) Senior Research Technician to be based in the Bioimaging Centre, as part of the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences at the Exeter campus.
Working as part of the Bioimaging team, the role holder will support the state-of-the-art electron microscopy modalities of the research facility under supervision of the Senior Experimental Officer. In particular, the role involves supporting the operation, maintenance and user training/assistance of the electron microscopy systems (TEM as well as SEM) and will be integral for the various sample preparation methods, data acquisition and analysis for ongoing and upcoming EM projects of the facility. The post holder will collaborate on a range of diverse research projects and be actively participating in practical workshops and supporting teaching programmes.
The successful candidate will be part of a team of technical research professionals, providing advanced imaging techniques, in order to address key questions in biology.
