Applications are invited for a full-time Research Assistant to collect data with school pupils aged 8-15 years using a Brain-Computer Interface to enhance language processing in children with dyslexia.
The successful candidate will be based in the Department of Psychology (Centre for Neuroscience in Education) and will be joining a team headed by Professor Usha Goswami (see: www.cne.psychol.cam.ac.uk). The position is available from 1 October 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter.
Applicants should ideally have a degree in psychology, cognitive neuroscience, or related disciplines, and prior experience of working with children, ideally using brain-based interventions to enhance linguistic and cognitive skills.
Applicants will be required to travel to children in participating boarding schools during data collection.
Excellent organisational and communication skills are required, and prior experience with children with learning disorders would be an advantage.
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 12 months in the first instance.
Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service check (enhanced with children's barred list).
